Este trabajo de grado explora las representaciones e imaginarios realizados en las películas de Aladdín, El Rey León y Mulán en sus versiones animadas producidas en la última década de 1990 y en los “remakes” realizados en el 2019 y 2020. Por medio de la comparación de estos dos momentos históricos, se pretende comprender si los cambios en el contexto, los nuevos medios de comunicación, la orientación de Disney a un público mundial, y una visión que tiende al lado liberal, implicaron una idea menos estereotipada de percibir a los pueblos no-occidentales ya que sus escenarios geográficos (África, Arabia y China) son protagonistas en estas películas.
Abstract
This work explores the representations and imaginaries that are present in the movies of Aladdin, The Lion King and Mulan in both their animation versions produced in the 90´s and in their remakes released in 2019 and 2020. Through a comparison analysis between two historical moments, this paper wants to understand if the change of the context , the new media, the focus of Disney to an international public, and a vision of the company that tends to a more liberal side, implied a less stereotypical idea on the way the no-occidental cultures are seen, given that the geographic space (Africa, Arabia and China) are the lead characters in this movies.
