Abstract
I started to hike up my ñapanga nariñense skirt, then another Peruvian quechua skirt, on my torso a purple chiapaneco huipil, on my shoulders a Guatemalan ruana. I crossed over my chest one, two, three, four, five Arhuacas backpacks, Wayuu, Misak, Kankuama, from one of them I hung the Whipala flag. On my neck there were three necklaces from Kamsá people with its seeds and feathers, a Zapatista bandana and, finally my face was covered with the Aya Uma mask. That was the way Ale Goria was born, a living character, a colorful body from the accumulation and overlapping of handicraft of all indigenous people from Latin America.
Ale Goria inhabits the streets of the Bogota downtown, takes part in the social demonstrations, and also, she is part of the artistic expositions, her image has circulated for mass communication, alternative, and social media. With this character it has been explored the saturation, exaggeration and radicalization of the exotic language in the way of unveiling colonial dynamics that still crosses our lives, besides reflecting on the Latin American representation troubles, as the exoticization and commodification of " the indigenous". Throughout the project it was worked the performance, video, photography and installation. Follow her on YouTube as Ale Goría and Instagram as @alee_goria for being aware of her wanderings.
