La reconfiguración territorial del Tolima Grande que tuvo lugar durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX, es analizada desde uno de los factores que encaminaron la definición territorial actual del Tolima y del Huila como es el café. Este producto agrícola no sólo transformó el paisaje rural, sino también el paisaje urbano, en ciudades como Ibagué y Neiva, lo que impulsó el cambio territorial a través de un epicentrismo urbano basado en el café.
Abstract
The territorial reconfiguration of Tolima Grande that took place during the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, is analysed from one of the factors that guided the current territorial definition of current departments of Tolima and Huila, such as coffee. This agricultural product not only changed the rural landscape, but also the urban landscape, in cities like Ibague and Neiva, which promoted territorial transformation through an urban epicentre based on coffee.
