The pedagogical case is about a company, called Schindler Elevators, founded in 1874 and owned by the Schindler Group. Also, the head office locates in Ebikon, Switzerland. Additionally, the business has approximately 58,000 employees worldwide and operates in 140 countries. Also, Switzerland, China, India, Spain, Slovakia, Brazil, and the United States are the company locations for their manufacturing facilities.
The Schindler Group specializes in the vertical transport industry. For that reason, the company focuses on the design, manufacturing, marketing, installation of equipment, the execution of preventive maintenance and the modernization of elevators, escalators, and ramps, worldwide. Thus, the market segments in which the Schindler Group participates are residential, commercial, corporate and high-rise construction projects.
