El individuo : un proyecto de nación en el siglo XIX en Colombia

El individuo, como categoría histórica y sociológica, es el centro de interés de la presente investigación. Este trabajo parte de la premisa de que el individuo no ha existido siempre y que, por el contrario, se trata de una forma de ser particular en el mundo. Para desarrollar esta hipótesis, la investigación indaga por los discursos políticos de construcción de Nación en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX colombiano, identificando un momento de convergencia entre el naciente proyecto nacional y una concepción particular de quienes debían habitarlo: los individuos.

Abstract

The individual, as a historical and sociological category, is the focus of this research. This work starts from the premise that the individual has not always existed and that, on the contrary, it is a particular way of being in the world. For developing this hypothesis, the research deepens in the political discourses of Nation building in the second half of the Colombian 19th century, identifying a moment of convergence between the nascent national project and a particular conception of those who should inhabit it: individuals.
