Francisco Antonio Vélez Ladrón de Guevara es un escritor neogranadino de finales del siglo XVIII, quien revive literariamente el sistema de mercedes y dávidas del siglo XVI, buscando así, su recuperación en el siglo XVIII. A su vez, quiere convertir a la poesía en un saber propio del gobierno y a él, poeta cortesano, como su máximo estandarte, traducido en una nueva nobleza letrada. Por medio de distintas tácticas discursivas busca superar a la nobleza armada eliminando la tensión del tópico medieval de 'las armas y las letras'. Vélez es un cuerpo abandonado por este gran (nuevo) padre: el gobierno monárquico Borbón y, por medio de distintas prácticas, busca recordarle su reconocimiento y merecida preeminencia.
Abstract
Francisco Antonio Vélez Ladrón de Guevara is a Neo-Granadian writer of the late eighteenth century, who revives through his literature the system of grants and dávidas of the sixteenth century, seeking its recovery in the eighteenth century. At the same time, he wants to turn poetry into a knowledge proper to the government and him, a court poet, as its maximum standard, translated into a new literate nobility. Through different discursive tactics he seeks to overcome the armed nobility by eliminating the tension of the medieval paradigm of 'arms and letters'. Vélez is a body abandoned by this great (new) father: the Bourbon monarchical government and, by means of different practices, seeks to remind it of its recognition and deserved preeminence.
