Method for postural categorization in the position of linemanResumen
Abstract
Currently, according to studies, workers working in the fields of manufacturing, construction, among others, are being affected by discomfort in their muscles due to the bad postures they must adopt during their working day. This has influenced the increase in patients with MSD In Colombia, a study was carried out that consisted of designing a preventive program to prevent musculoskeletal injuries in linemen, where it was defined that this job presents a high risk of contracting MSD in the future. For that reason, in this undergraduate work, a graphic postural categorization method will be designed for the position of the lineman, where as a result a table will be obtained in which the most common postures that linemen adopt when carrying out their work are shown, and the qualitative qualification of postural risk either high or low, what each posture represents, so that people can compare if the In addition to that, an supplement was made using an exoskeleton to determine if the use of this tool helps correct posture and reduces the postural risk to which linemen are exposed. For the development of this design, the simulation of the construction of a scaffolding was carried out at the Javeriana University, where 20 people participated, of whom 12 were linemen with experience in the sector and 8 were inexperienced people. Three tools were taken into account. The first was a self-reporting and interview tool which was applied only to linemen to identify the areas of the body where they present the greatest discomfort and define the area to be studied, which in this case is the upper part of the body. The second was the observation tool, where the videos of the simulations of all the participants were recorded with said videos, the definition of the activities to be qualified was made, in addition to that with the Kinovea software, the identification of the angles of the postures of each activity was carried out to then qualify them with the RULA and REBA ergonomic evaluation methods, with which the score of each of the activities was made and the level of postural risk they are located were defined. The third tool was electromyography, with this tool the elećtric states adopted by the muscles during activity carried out by the lineman were evaluated, obtaining as a result the state in which the muscle is when performing each of the activities, and if this state improves or worsens with the use of the exoskeleton. Finally, a combination of the roll, burr and electromyography methods was carried out to qualify the activities carried out in the pre-assembly, assembly and clothing tasks of the high voltage tower, and thus obtain which activities should be categorized. It should be emphasized that for the qualification EMG was taken into account as a risk decision-making entity, which means that if an activity has a high EMG result, it is an activity that has a high postural and muscle risk, therefore it must be categorized. This rating resulted in six activities that are the following:• To lift• Vertical tightening• Horizontal Recess 1• Horizontal Recess 4• Mooring 1• Mooring 2For the design of the postural categorization method, the postures that linemen frequently adopted during the performance of the activity were graphed. Resulting in two tables of postural categorization method. The first table of postural categorization method contains 89 postures and applies to the case where they do not use the exoskeleton. The second table of postural categorization method contains 70 postures and applies to the case where they use the exoskeleton. After making the postural categorization method tables, each of the graphed postures is qualified, for this qualification the risk levels of curling and burr and the state taken by the muscle in EMG were taken into account, in this case the EMG does not define whether the posture is at risk or not, since the muscle can have increased effort - fatigue caused by external entities such asAs a result, it was obtained that with the implementation of the graphic postural categorization method without the use of the exoskeleton it can be defined which of the 89 postures 51 are with a score in the high postural risk rating and 19 postures with a score in the low postural risk rating. In addition to that, with the use of the exoskeleton it can be observed that the initial method decreased by three categories, these categories are: In the activity of lifting category B, in the vertical recessed activity category E and in the mooring activity 1 category R.Finally, to run for the graphic postural categorization method, the following illustration will be taken as an example, where will be taken as an example, where: First, the image of the posture to be evaluated and identified which activity it belongs to must be captured. Second, you must go to the categorization method to locate yourself in the group to which the image belongs and compare it with the positions already proposed to identify the category in which it is located. Third, you must go to the rating table of the categories to locate the rating in which the image is located. Fourth, it is defined by the color used in the category if it presents high or low postural risk
