The smell, the self and the otherResumen
En esta investigación se pretende comprender las funciones que ha
tenido y tiene el olor en algunos textos de literaturas y oralituras narradas o escritas por personas
que se autorreconocen como indígenas. Se busca ver la capacidad del olor de construir y
comunicar identidades personales y colectivas, pero también de construir olfativamente al otro,
es decir, aquel que probablemente no participa de la cultura del que narra; asimismo, pretende evidenciar
cómo son percibidos externamente estos olores. En este sentido, en este trabajo existe, por momentos, un contrapunteo con el "Manual de Carreño", pretendiendo, no solo desnaturalizar los buenos y los malos olores, sino hacer reflexiones y lecturas
textuales que permitan entender la importancia de un sentido que ha sido usado como instrumento de marginalización, exclusión y racismo.
Abstract
This research aims to understand the functions that had and has the smell in some texts of literatures and oralitures narrated or written by people who recognize themselves as indigenous. The aim is to understand the ability of smell to build and
communicate personal and collective identities, but also to build the other, which means, one who probably does not participate in the culture of the narrator. It also pretends to show how these odors are perceived externally. In this sense, in this work there is, at times, a counterpoint with the "Manual de Carreño", intending, not only to denature the good and bad smells but also to make reflections and readings that allow understanding the importance of a sense that has been used as an instrument of marginalization, exclusion, and racism.
