Characterization of the medicinal plants used in the urban center of the municipality of Curumaní, Cesarrésumé
El municipio de Curumaní, ubicado en el departamento del Cesar, Colombia, cuenta con un bosque seco tropical, ecosistema caracterizado por poseer una gran diversidad vegetativa, donde se destaca la riqueza de plantas con propiedades curativas, las cuales carecen de registros en la zona de estudio. Con el propósito de fomentar la preservación de los saberes ancestrales asociados a las plantas medicinales, se realizó un inventario de nombres comunes y usos de plantas medicinales, implementando 20 entrevistas semiestructuradas a los habitantes del casco urbano del municipio de Curumaní, en las que se indagó sobre la etnofarmacología de las plantas usadas, así como la percepción personal sobre las mismas. Se registraron 148 especies agrupadas en 60 familias botánicas. Las familias más ricas fueron la Fabaceae y Asteraceae con 12 especies, con 12 especies cada una, seguida de la Lamiaceae con 8 y Rutaceae con 5. De las 20 personas entrevistadas, 15 mencionaron el paico (Chenopodium ambrosioides) y la sábila (Aloe vera), siendo estas las especies más reportadas en el municipio. Por otra parte, el llantén (Plantago major) tuvo la mayor importancia relativa (2,0), al tratar alrededor de 16 síntomas de ocho sistemas corporales.
Abstrait
The municipality of Curumaní it is located in the department of Cesar, Colombia. It has a tropical dry forest, an ecosystem characterized by having an enormous vegetative diversity, where the wealth of plants with healing properties stands out, however, there are lack of records in the area. With the purpose of promoting the preservation of ancestral knowledge associated with medicinal plants, it was made a record of common names and uses of this medicinal plants, implementing 20 semi-structured interviews with the locals of the urban area of the municipality of Curumaní, in which it was inquired about the ethnopharmacology of the plants used, as well as, their perception about them. 148 species arranged into 60 botanical families were recorded. The wealthiest families were Fabaceae and Asteraceae with 12 species, each one, followed by Lamiaceae with 8 and Rutaceae with 5. Of the 20 people interviewed, 15 mentioned the paico (Chenopodium ambrosioides) and the aloe (Aloe vera), these being the most mentioned species in the municipality. On the other hand, the llantén (Plantago major) had the highest relative importance (2.0), treating about 16 symptoms from the eight body systems.
