Approach to the pollinating insects of the Sibundoy Valley, biological collections as a source of information on ecological interactionsZusammenfassung
Hypanartia cinderella, Melipona eburnea, Conognatha callioma y Anotylus sp.
especialistas.
Abstrakt
Pollination is an ecosystem service of vital importance for the functioning of ecosystems and of great value to humans. Insects are one of the groups that best perform this service. The Sibundoy Valley has attracted the interest of scientists due to its abundant and unique biological diversity, generated mainly by its geographical location. However, the natural ecosystem of the valley has been affected by human intervention, an event that can alter pollination processes. Therefore, it is desired to know which are the potentially pollinating insects of the Sibundoy Valley, as well as which plant species are potentially pollinated by insects. This work answers the above questions by recognizing the insects present in biological collections and natural recording platforms, and their possible interaction with the plants recorded in this valley. The role of potential pollinators was defined through a literature review. As a result, it was found that the Lepidoptera order recorded the highest number of pollinating insects. The species Hypanartia cinderella, Melipona eburnea, Conognatha callioma and Anotylus sp. were the only species of specialist pollinating insects, while the other species, both insects and pollinators, turned out to be generalists. The order Coleoptera was the order with the highest number of specialist species.
