Resumen
La fragilidad se define como el "estado de vulnerabilidad a estresores externos", que tiene un impacto negativo en múltiples resultados clínicos en el anciano, como institucionalización, caídas, hospitalización, deterioro cognitivo, discapacidad y mortalidad.
Identificar la prevalencia y evaluar los factores asociados a la fragilidad en pacientes de la consulta externa de geriatría del Hospital Universitario San Ignacio.
Se realizó un estudio transversal de todos los pacientes atendidos por primera vez en la consulta externa de geriatría del HUSI de Bogotá (Colombia) entre agosto de 2016 y marzo de 2020. Se incluyeron 689 pacientes. La fragilidad se definió como una puntuación igual o superior a 3 en la escala FRAIL. Realizamos un análisis multivariado para establecer los factores asociados a la fragilidad.
Abstract
Frailty is defined as the "state of vulnerability to external stressors", which has a negative impact on multiple clinical outcomes in the elderly, such as institutionalization, falls, hospitalization, cognitive impairment, disability and mortality.
Identify the prevalence and evaluate the factors associated with frailty in patients of the geriatric outpatient service of the Hospital Universitario San Ignacio.
A cross-sectional study was conducted involving all the patients seen for the first time in the geriatrics outpatient department of the HUSI in Bogota (Colombia) between August 2016 and March 2020. 689 patients were included. Frailty was defined as a score equal or higher than 3 in the FRAIL scale. We conducted a multivariate analysis to stablish the factors associated with frailty.
