La presente investigación busca responder a dos cuestiones acerca de la heterogeneidad, ambigüedad y misterio de Elías en 1–2 Reyes: ¿Cómo integrar las irregularidades del ciclo de Elías dentro de un esquema teológico consistente? y ¿cuáles son las categorías relevantes para leer las contradicciones de este ciclo respetando su carácter canónico?
Desde este punto de partida, este trabajo recorre el relato de 1R 16,29–2R 2,25 integrado dentro del texto canónico de 1–2 Reyes para encontrar la funcionalidad teológica del ciclo de Elías que permita integrar sus irregularidades narrativas dentro de un esquema teológico consistente. Este fin es alcanzado por medio del método canónico en conjunción con la metodología de análisis narrativo del texto bíblico.
A partir de la funcionalidad teológica alcanzada el ciclo de Elías se puede leer desde cinco categorías teológicas y cuatro títulos proféticos. Las categorías son YHWH Dios de Israel, YHWH Dios vivo, Palabra de YHWH, Cuidado o protección, y Comer y beber. Los títulos proféticos son profeta, siervo, hombre de Dios y tisbita. Al cierre, la síntesis teológica recoge las seis antinomias de YHWH: muerte-vida, verdad-mentira, guerra-paz, bondad-maldad, misericordia-punición, y cuidado-abandono.
Abstract
This research seeks to answer two questions about the heterogeneity, ambiguity and mystery of the prophet Elijah in 1–2 Kings: how to integrate the irregularities of the Elijah cycle within a consistent theological scheme? And what are the relevant categories to read the contradictions of this cycle respecting its canonical character?
From this starting point, this work goes through the story of 1R 16,29-2R 2,25 integrated within the canonical text of 1-2 Kings to find the theological functionality of the Elijah cycle that allows integrating its narrative irregularities within a scheme consistent theology. This end is achieved through the canonical method in conjunction with the methodology of narrative analysis of the biblical text.
From the theological functionality achieved, the Elijah cycle can be read from five theological categories and four prophetic titles. The categories are YHWH God of Israel, YHWH Living God, Word of YHWH, Care or Protection, and Eating and Drinking. The prophetic titles are prophet, servant, man of God, and Tishbite. At the end, the theological synthesis includes the six antinomies of YHWH: death-life, truth-lie, war-peace, goodness-evil, mercy-punishment, and care-abandonment.
