El siguiente trabajo de grado consistió en investigar cómo había sido entendida la maternidad en la cultura coreana y cómo había sido representada en la literatura publicada a principios del siglo XX. Especificamente, se exploró a la autora Kang Kyongae y se realizó el analisis de cómo las figuras femeninas y maternas, de tres cuentos pertenecientes a la antología "The Underground Village" (2018), respondían e interactuaban con el ideal de "madre devota" que había sido instaurado en el territorio. Para lograr esto, el trabajo se dividió en tres partes en el cual se introduce a la autora y su obra, se analiza la categoría de maternidad y cómo esta era entendida en el momento historico de Kang para, finalmente, poder acercarse a sus escritos de una manera crítica.
Abstract
The following study explored the way motherhood was understood in Korean culture and how it was represented in the literature published at the beginning of the twentieth century. Specifically, the author Kang Kyongae was explored by analyzing how the feminine and maternal figures —in three stories belonging to the anthology "The Underground Village" (2018)— responded and interacted with the ideal of "devoted mother" that had been established in the territory. To achieve this, the work was divided into three parts in which the author and her work are introduced, the category of motherhood and how it was understood in Kang's historical moment is analyzed in order to, finally, approach her writings in a critical way.
