Representación de la madre y la maternidad en la literatura infantil colombiana contemporánea

Con el propósito de establecer cómo se configura la representación de la maternidad en la literatura infantil colombiana contemporánea la presente investigación se planteó realizar un recorrido por los conceptos más relevantes, a saber: 1) la maternidad, comprendida desde la diferencia entre madre y maternidad, abordada a partir de un recorrido histórico nacional (Colombia) e internacional, y analizada desde su presencia en la literatura; 2) la literatura infantil, exponiendo su definición, historia y relación con los arquetipos de madre que se han presentado y siguen vigentes; y, finalmente, 3) la representación y los estereotipos, dando cuenta de lo que son, lo que significan social y culturalmente, y cómo dictaminan la presencia de las madres en la literatura infantil. Y Con dichos conceptos en mente, se desarrolló un análisis comparativo de cinco obras de la literatura infantil colombiana contemporánea, en las que se puede ver cómo se representa a la madre: Rana, escrito e ilustrado por María Paula Bolaños; NO, escrito e ilustrado por Claudia Rueda; Letras robadas, escrito por Triunfo Arciniegas e ilustrado por Claudia Rueda; Mi mascota, escrito por Yolanda Reyes e ilustrado por Rafael Yockteng; y, por último, Una llegada extraordinaria, escrito por Carmen Eugenia Pedraza e ilustrado por María P. Todo ello, con el fin de comprender cómo la representación de la madre en los textos está respondiendo o no a los estereotipos impuestos.

Abstract

With the purpose of establishing how the representation of motherhood is configured in contemporary Colombian children's literature, this research proposed to make a tour of the most relevant concepts, namely: 1) motherhood, understood from the difference between mother and motherhood, approached from a national (Colombia) and international historical journey, and analyzed from its presence in literature; 2) children's literature, exposing its definition, history and relationship with the archetypes of mother that have been presented and are still in force; and, finally, 3) representation and stereotypes, giving an account of what they are, what they mean socially and culturally, and how they dictate the presence of mothers in children's literature. And with these concepts in mind, a comparative analysis of five works of contemporary Colombian children's literature was developed, in which we can see how the mother is represented: Rana, written and illustrated by María Paula Bolaños; NO, written and illustrated by Claudia Rueda; Letras robadas, written by Triunfo Arciniegas and illustrated by Claudia Rueda; Mi mascota, written by Yolanda Reyes and illustrated by Rafael Yockteng; and, finally, Una llegada extraordinaria, written by Carmen Eugenia Pedraza and illustrated by María P. All this, in order to understand how the representation of the mother in the texts is responding or not to the imposed stereotypes.
