La violencia infantil amerita ser examinada con atención por los nuevos medios de comunicación. Esta investigación profundiza mediante informes y estadísticas disponibles, entrevistas con expertos y una encuesta que determina las preferencias y necesidades de 200 usuarios activos en redes sociales, para entender de qué manera el lenguaje gráfico ayuda a concientizar al público jóven sobre la violencia infantil en sus diversas modalidades. Las tres áreas de enfoque de esta investigación fueron la desnutrición infantil, el reclutamiento forzado y el abuso sexual de Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes (NNA) en Colombia. Se diseñaron ilustraciones atractivas para el usuario con el fin de visibilizar distintos escenarios actuales de violencia. Fue fundamental estudiar el mundo de la caricatura editorial como herramienta para denunciar, al igual que la publicidad que permite enviar mensajes contundentes que conducen a la reflexión sobre temas sensibles.
De este modo, se procedió a crear un producto digital innovador y creativo, utilizando el diseño gráfico como herramienta de provocación para despertar la atención de la audiencia, en especial de los jóvenes centennials. A pesar de la gravedad de los flagelos que afectan a los NNA en el país, existen varios programas e iniciativas de entidades que se dedican a brindar ayuda a las víctimas mediante acciones estructuradas que merecen ser reconocidas y apoyadas por el gobierno y por la sociedad civil. En conclusión, el periodismo debe incluir a los jóvenes en sus productos, entendiendo sus gustos y necesidades, así como las posibilidades que ofrece la era digital. El lenguaje gráfico es una forma poderosa para contar historias y hacer un llamado a la empatía sobre los problemas actuales de la población infantil.
Abstract
Childhood violence deserves to be carefully examined by the new media. This research delves deeper through available reports and statistics, interviews with experts, and a survey that determines the preferences and needs of 200 active users on social networks, to understand how graphic language helps raise awareness among young people about child violence in its various forms. The three focus areas of this research were child malnutrition, forced recruitment for war, and sexual abuse of Children and Adolescents (NNA) in Colombia. Attractive illustrations were designed for the user to make visible different current scenarios of violence. It was essential to study the world of editorial cartoons as a tool to denounce, as well as advertising that allows sending strong messages that lead to reflection on sensitive topics.
Thus, an innovative and creative digital product was created, using graphic design as a provocative tool to capture the attention of the audience, especially young centennials. Despite the seriousness of the scourges that affect children and adolescents in the country, there are several programs and initiatives of entities that are dedicated to providing help to victims through structured actions that deserve to be recognized and supported by the government and civil society. . In conclusion, journalism must include young people in its products, understanding their tastes and needs, as well as the possibilities offered by the digital age. Graphic language is a powerful way to tell stories and call for empathy about the current problems of children.
