Sommario

Bogota has had an accelerated growth that registers its greater deployment in the 1920s, the city has created different models that have organized the growth of the city. For a while, the city grew in an orderly manner and largely dominated by the private sector. The result was an intermittent construction that is evident in the discontinuous urban landscape in several parts of the city, specially in Chapinero. On the other hand, the city is growing and it will continue to do so, in fact the Bogota Mayoralty described that by 2022 the city will need the double of the area of Chapinero (3,030ha) to receive 1 million new inhabitants. This thesis defines an alternative model of development for the main centers of Bogota, which will revitalizes the existing city and will reduces the need for expansion to the periphery.
