En este estudio se describen las percepciones de los cuidadores informales, frente a la experiencia de cuidado de una persona adulta en cuidado paliativo con patología oncológica, se llevó a cabo un estudio de tipo descriptivo con un enfoque cualitativo e interpretativo, el cual permitió estudiar la realidad en el contexto natural de los participantes, se realizó una entrevista semiestructurada a seis participantes asistentes al Centro Javeriano de Oncología en la ciudad de Bogotá durante el periodo de Junio y Julio del año 2016. Se logró identificar que las personas que desempeñan el rol de cuidador informal de una persona en cuidado paliativo experimentan sentimientos siendo los más comunes: el amor, la desesperanza, el sufrimiento, la tristeza y la preocupación, además de los cambios en su economía, viéndose afectada como consecuencia del desempeño del rol, ya que tienen que suspender o modificar su actividad laboral de la cual solían adquirir ingresos económicos, es por ello que para los cuidadores informales es importante contar con una red de apoyo sólida, la cual pueda brindar ayuda económica y acompañamiento para que así solventen la carga del cuidador primario evitando además alteraciones de la salud a nivel físico, finalmente estos cuidadores primarios se someten a cambios emocionales continuamente por la situación que viven, sin embargo esta realidad se ve equilibrada cuando la fe y espiritualidad aumentan al aferrarse a un ser superior el cual genera tranquilidad y confianza en sí mismo.
Abstrait
Perception of the informal carers, facing the experience of the care of an adult person in palliative care with oncological pathology, attending at Centro Javeriano de Oncología (CJO) (Xavierian Oncology Center), during the period between June and July, 2016 This study it describe the perceptions of the informal carers, in the face of the experience of caring for an adult person in palliative care with oncological pathology. It was conducted a study of a descriptive type with a qualitative and interpretative approach, which allowed to study the reality in the natural context of the participants. In addition, it was carried out a semi-structured interview to six participants attending to the Centro Javeriano de Oncología (Xavierian Oncology Center) in the city of Bogotá, during the period of June and July, 2016. It was possible to identify that persons who perform the role of informal carer of other person in palliative care experience feelings, with the most common being: love, despair, suffering, sadness and concern, in addition to the changes in its economy, being affected as a result of the performance of the role, since they have to suspend or modify their labor activity of which used to acquire income, it is for this reason that for the informal carers is important to have a solid support network, which can provide economic assistance and accompaniment so that bear the burden of the primary caregiver avoiding further alterations of health at physical level. Finally, these primary caregivers are exposed continuously to emotional changes by the situation that they live, however this reality is balanced when the faith and spirituality increasing by holding to a higher being, which generates confidence and peace of mind in itself.
