Currently, in Colombia different investigations have been developed around the term of teaching talent, which seek to discover different aspects of it, such as its meaning, its emergence, its development, among others. In this regard, different works have been carried out that have allowed the concept to be strengthened every day, among which are some that revolve around the implicit theories that have university teachers and students and, in turn, school teachers. For this reason, this research seeks to explore the implicit theories about teaching talent in children belonging to the fifth grade of elementary school, in order to give meaning to the term teaching talent and, likewise, to the teaching work as such, from the look of children.
The research is qualitative, since it seeks the understanding of the concept from the vision and interaction of the children, who are directly involved in the teacher's exercise. And it has an exploratory scope, because it seeks to examine a subject that has not been studied very much and, in addition, it allows obtaining information that makes it possible to carry out other investigations more complete and with a specific context.
For its development, initially a test of the interview that was planned with 5 children who were studying fifth grade of primary school, who were between 9 and 11 years old. Then, from the analysis of said test, the interview was reconsidered and 50 children were carried out in 2 Institutions: the San León Magno Parish and the Educational Institution Liceo Parroquial San José. And, later, the information from the interviews was categorized and analyzed.
As a result, it was found that the implicit theories of children can be categorized in the fundamental pillars of education proposed by Delors (1996), which are: learning to do, learning to be, learning to know and learning to live together. Some of the beliefs of the children are the following: a teacher who manifests talent must be loving with his students, be demanding, create strategies to develop creative classes, listen to students, care about students.
