Abstract
This research is conceived from the desire to be part of the growing awareness of the social sciences about the existence, sometimes conflicting, between the different forms of memory and their connection with history. It is an attempt to approach the memory of the Arhuaca community from its different dimensions and its relationship with the construction of historical memory of Colombia. The research is based on the premise that there is no constructive dialogue between the indigenous memory, starting from their cosmovisions and identities with the historical memory of Colombia, that is how, to illustrate these differences, the story of the violence in Colombia from the Arhuaca indigenous perspective and contrast it with the partly hegemonic historical memory about the same facts.
Making this union does not mean that the memory of the indigenous communities is going to be invented, rather the intention is to make a recognition that facilitates the incorporation of their memory as a constituent element of the historical memory of Colombia.
