Abstract
In this dissertation we have examined the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer since its first articulation until its definitive form. According to that, we have deeply delved in the expression "better consciousness", frequently mentioned in the first diary of the german philosopher, finding that although the expression disappeared after his formulation of the metaphysics of the will, what she designated remained under other names in The World as Will and Representation.
