Abstract
This document seeks to report on a research project conducted by the research group “Lenguaje, Pedagogías y Cultura” of Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Based on a Discourse Analysis methodology (Fairclough, 2003; Reyes, 2011; Vasilachis, 1997; Wodak y Meyer, 2001), the study shows that the social representations of group of candidates, students and alumni of the B.A in the Teaching of Modern Languages influences both the construction of the category “Teacher” and the attitudes about the teaching-learning processes. These social representations can be organized in two stages and move from a negative point to a positive one as students advance in their studies.
