Abstrait
In the present work of degree applied in the company Café La Palma Ltda, an analysis was made in front of the problems presented in the phases of planning of purchase orders, inventory management and distribution of finished product that faces this company dedicated to the production of coffee. In the first phase, large quantities of raw material are ordered because there is no model that determines the moment and the right quantity to order. This leads to the fact that, in the second phase, there is a large amount of raw material stored in the warehouse that generates low inventory turnover rates. About the last phase, the company makes more trips than necessary, because there is no model that define for each route the correct allocation of customers with the maximum use of the capabilities of the vehicles.
For the solution of the problems in the first and second phase in order to reduce costs in the company, a first application was designed which contains a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) heuristic, that allows for the estimation of forecasts, identify the units to be produced from the presentations of coffee, the inventory of the units of finished product, the moment in which it is required to order the raw material and the quantities in inventory of this. Regarding the third phase, the solution was the creation of a second application which, by means of a metaheuristic, allows to visualize the routes, which each vehicle needs to
follow in order to deliver the orders to the clients.
