Abstrait
The construction of one's image is the mental representation that is obtained from oneself. This self-image is nothing more than an internal photograph; the result of the way a person sees himself; the way other people see it, and the feedback of these two figures. However, today virtuality goes through all these concepts and sits on each one of them, transforming and muting them in ways that had not been contemplated before the digital era passed through us.
This work wants, more than giving an opinion, a value judgment or an answer on how to affect virtuality to our body, our conception of it and our identity. Employ some dynamics that the digital era uses, to attract humankind.
Dynamics such as video, which has a face of truth and a notion of time - another - that only the virtuality can grant.
Fragmentation, which is inherent in the identity seen from the virtuality and at the same time is a tool, for research and analysis in different fields of study.
Narcissism as a personal practice tackled along the path in art, and in response to the fact that the whole theme is woven through that talk of oneself.
Abjection, like that bridge between fragmentation, virtualization, and narcissism.
And, ultimately, as a search result for wanting to re-known me in others, the meeting point ended up being my own body, returning to myself. Because when trying to dehumanize myself, I cannot put aside my human part because then what we would achieve is to undo.
Thus, as a boomerang in the virtual, as a daffodil in the abject and as a whole that never separates from its fragment, remember how alienated that girl that I was once becoming, by placing herself in a space and recognizing a body, as an entity, which, a weight of looking very similar to her.
That strangeness, that sense of wonder and horror at the same time, that little bit of reality that was only possible in that girl's mind, that was only possible in that space, that only that entity achieves. That entity that has always been latent.
That want of the artist, makes the viewer feel like that naive girl.
