dc.description.abstractEn el texto ofrezco una interpretación integrada del significado textualque el término “dignidad” tiene en la filosofía práctica de Kant. En estesentido, mi tesis es que la noción de Kant de dignidad es, en efecto, una noción socio-política y legal que proviene del significado común y general que en la época de Kant tenía el término. Este significado se refiere a la idea del desempeño de un oficio, posición y, especialmente, a la ostentación de un título legal de nobleza u honor. Mi texto está dividido en tres secciones. Primero, presento la idea de dignidad humana tal y como se ha ido desarrollado en el discurso de los derechos humanos. Segundo, expongo la noción de dignidad tal y como es presentada por la filosofía práctica de Kant. Principalmente analizaré la Fundamentación de la metafísica de las costumbres, la Crítica de la razón práctica y la Metafísica de las costumbres, tanto en la Doctrina del derecho como en la Doctrina de la virtud. Finalmente, en la tercera sección, presentaré algunas conclusiones de todo lo anterior. spa
dc.description.abstractenglishIn my paper I offer an integrated interpretation of the textual meaning that the term “dignity” has within Kant´s Practical Philosophy. My claim is that Kant´s notion of dignity is, in fact, a socio-political and legal notion. This meaning refers to the idea of an office, a rank and, particularly, a legal title of nobility or honor. My article is presented in three steps. First, I present the notion of human dignity as it has been developed by the human rights’ discourse. Second, I expound the notion of dignity as it is presented in Kant’s practical philosophy. I will mainly analyze the Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, the Critique of the Practical Reason and the Metaphysics of Morals, both the Doctrine of Right and the Doctrine ‘of Virtue. Finally, I will draw some conclusions from all of the above.eng
