| dc.description.abstract | Los meningiomas son los segundos tumores primarios del cerebro más frecuentes. Para estos, la resección total sigue siendo el tratamiento de elección, pero para aquellas lesiones en las que la resección es parcial o no es posible por su localización, o por deseo del paciente, existen otras opciones como son la radiocirugía estereotáxica o la radioterapia estereotáxica fraccionada. Se informa la experiencia del Centro Javeriano de Oncología y del Hospital Universitario San Ignacio en 29 pacientes tratados en estas instituciones con radiocirugía estereotáxica o con radioterapia estereotáxica fraccionada, tanto en meningiomas primarios como en residuales, entre 2009 y 2012. Se informan los resultados después de seguimiento a los tres, seis y doce meses, con buen control local. | spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | Meningiomas are the second primary brain tumors. For these, total resection remains the treatment of choice, but for those lesions in which there is partial resection or is not possible by its location, or patient’s desire, there are other options such as stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) or fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT). This is a report of Hospital Universitario San Ignacio and Centro Javeriano de Oncologia in 29 patients treated in these institutions with SRS or SRT, both in primary and residual meningiomas, in the period between 2009 and 2012. We report the results after three, six and twelve months monitoring, with good local control. | eng |
