dc.description.abstractLa situación de salud y enfermedad mental en el mundo y en Colombia, plantea grandes responsabilidades al profesional de enfermería quien, por su naturaleza de cuidador de la salud y de la vida, se constituye en un recurso importante para proporcionar la ayuda restauradora que permita a las personas, grupos y comunidades alcanzar bienestar en todas sus dimensiones. Las tendencias en salud para los próximos años obligan a repensar la formación y el desempeño del rol profesional para responder a las complejas necesidades de atención en salud mental y psiquiatría desde la naturaleza humana de la profesión. ABSTRACTThis situation of mental health of the population in the world and in Colombia, raises great challenges and responsibilities to the nursing professional who as a natural caretaker of health and life, is a main resource for providing restorative help that allows persons, groups and communities to reach integrative wellbeing. The tendencies in health for the next years force us to rethink nursing education and nursing professional roles in order to be able to respond, in a humanistic form to the complex nursing care necessities on mental health and psychiatry.spa
