| dc.description.abstract | En el proceso de instalación de las Misiones JesuíticoGuraní, en el siglo XVII,fueron fundadas siete reducciones enel actual territorio de Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, de los cuales,apenas cuatro poseen vestigios visibles. Con la decadenciadel sistema reduccional a finales del siglo XVIII,los pobladosmisioneros fueron abandonados y sus estructuras arquitectónicascomenzaron a arruinarse.Las primeras iniciativas del Instituto de Patrimonio Históricoy Artístico Nacional (IPHANe)n el campo de la preservaciónfueron en los remanentes de Sáo Miguel Arcanjo, a partir de1938. Por un largo período se dio importancia exclusivamentea este local y sólo en 1970, los sitios arqueológicos de SáoJoáo Batista, Sáo Lourenco Martir y Sáo Nicolau fueron declaradospatrimonio nacional.Desde la década del noventa, se viene desarrollando elproyecto de "Protección y Valorización del Patrimonio Culturalde las Misiones Jesuíticas de los Guaraní", y a partir de2003 se está trabajando en los sitios misioneros de Sáo JoáoBatista y Sáo Lourenco Mártir, en un trabajo integrado con unequipo multidisciplinario compuesto por especialistas en lasáreas de arquitectura, restauración, investigación histórica,arqueología y medio ambiente, en una experiencia nueva enesta área.La idea general de estos trabajos es valorizar los remanentesmisioneros por medio del rescate de su documentaciónhistórica, sus estructuras arquitectónicas y arqueológicas, recuperando la distribución espacial de losantiguos poblados. | spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | During the settlement process of the jesuitic-guarani missions in the XVII century seven reductions were founded in the Rio Grande do Sul (Brasil) and just four of them show visible remains nowadays. Because of the decay of the reduccional system by the end of the XVIII century, the missionary towns were abandoned and their architecture fell into ruin. The first preservation work of the National Historical Artistic Patrimony Institute was done on the remains of São Miguel Arcanjo from 1938. Over a long period of time they concentrated exclusively on this site and just in 1970 the archeological sites of São João Batista, São Lourenço Martir and São Nicolau were declared national patrimony. From the 90s began the development of the project "Protection and Valorization of Cultural Patrimony of the Jesuit Missioners of the Guarani", and from 2003 they have been working on the São João Batista and São Lourenço Martir sites with a multidiscipline team integrated by specialists in architecture, restoration, historic investigation, archaeology and environment. This is a new experience in this field. The main idea of this work is to enhance the appreciation of the missionary vestiges by recovering their historic documents and their architectonic and archaeological structures in order to understand and recuperate the way space was distributed. | eng |
